How to apply correctly - even without a cover letter!
Applying for jobs has become much easier these days – at least for us. For example, we now only require a cover letter in exceptional cases. In any case, we would like to see a convincing CV when you apply to us, as well as all important certificates and references.
But what is a “meaningful CV” anyway?
More important to us than a complete overview of each individual stage in your life is a summary of the points that are important for the job you are applying for.
Of course, we would like to see your personal details on your CV (first and last name, address and contact details). Your date of birth, place of birth or citizenship are not yet important for your application. We only need this information when we sign an employment contract together. If you feel the information is important for the job, mention it, otherwise leave it out. You don’t have to send an application photo either. But if you do, send us a good one.
In order to find out as much as possible about you, we would like to get to know your school, university and professional background.
If you have been abroad or your CV has other special features, tell us about them – we are interested in your background and want to get to know you really well.
Finally, you should list your qualifications, which you can document with certificates. This also includes further and advanced training and additional qualifications.
We do not want to know anything about your parents’ profession, your religious affiliation, birth names, primary school years or short-term gaps in your CV.
Speaking of which, you don’t need to mention gaps of two to three months. But be prepared for us to ask you about it in an interview. It would be good if you could answer that.
That’s it already! We look forward to receiving your informative applications!
