For its client Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), DEPENBROCK Ingenieurwasserbau is carrying out the basic repair of the Hachmannkai over a length of around 460 m until December 2024. The existing quay dating from 1910 was closed after an accident in 2016. The subject of the contract is the new engineering construction of the quay wall in order to restore the functionality of the Hachmannkai. The work includes the technical processing, foundation work including back anchoring, backfilling, construction of the quay wall head, earthworks and demolition work as well as the construction of the surfaces.
The basic construction is a combined wall consisting of 180 supporting tubes and intermediate planks. A utility model specially developed by our own technical office is the basis for the wall anchored back by bored piles. Due to the sensitive and collapse-prone nature of the old building stock, the support pipes are installed in cased boreholes.
The work is mainly carried out using floating equipment. The Simone jack-up platform with an HS 895 duty cycle crawler crane and a BG 45 drilling rig was used for the drilling work and the installation of the support pipes. The sheet piles are inserted and the back anchoring is produced from working pontoons.
