Dual study programme in construction engineering for foundation or structural engineering / civil & hydraulic engineering

With a double degree, the dual study program offers you plenty of variety. Practical phases are ideally complemented by theoretical units. You will get to know the world of construction in all its facets – from planning to execution and follow-up. The practical part teaches you the tasks of your chosen profession and also the first steps for site management. The advantage: after four years you have two degrees.

Your theoretical training

This is what you can expect from your theoretical instruction:

You will learn fundamental aspects of mathematics, building physics, and building materials science
You will acquire comprehensive specialised knowledge in your field, in project management, and in order processing
You will also deal with topics such as business administration, law, and surveying technology

Your practical training

This is what to expect in your practical instruction:

You will be deployed in various areas of work in your field of specialisation
You will learn your chosen profession from the ground up
You will be involved in construction projects – e.g. construction costing, construction supervision, and project management
You will gain insights into exciting project management tasks across all phases of the construction project

What you should bring with you

You should bring the following with you for a dual study programme with us:

You have an advanced technical college entrance qualification or school leaving certificate (Abitur) – or will have one soon
You have manual dexterity and good technical understanding
You enjoy teamwork and have a structured way of working
You are friendly and communicative
You are resilient and have stamina
You have at least language level C1

What you earn

You will receive the following monthly training allowance (gross):

1st apprenticeship year: 935 €
2nd apprenticeship year: 1,230 €
3rd apprenticeship year: 1,495 €
4th apprenticeship year: 1,580 €

Dual study combining practical experience – here's how it works

Four years – two degrees: in parallel with your studies, you will complete an apprenticeship as a

road builder (m/f/x) or sewer builder (m/f/x) in the field of civil engineering
bricklayer (m/f/x), skilled foundation worker (m/f/x) or concrete and reinforced concrete worker (m/f/x) in the field of structural engineering / civil engineering & hydraulic engineering
