We work hand in hand with man and machine - always with as little impact on infrastructure and the environment as possible and without any open trenches. This means that surfaces remain undamaged and existing infrastructures are hardly affected during construction.
Horizontal directional drilling
As your competent partner, we create underground infrastructures for supply and disposal – both in open and closed construction methods using horizontal directional drilling (HDD). We install all utilities such as gas, water and wastewater pipes, fiber optics, heating networks and even electricity systems with extra-high voltage grids.
Our solutions include water crossings, undercrossings of special structures such as railroad lines, highways and canals as well as longitudinal installations to protect nature, especially in the case of tree cover and in nature conservation areas.
Our project and site managers as well as our drilling teams have successfully implemented numerous projects throughout Europe thanks to their in-depth drilling technology expertise. With decades of experience, highly qualified personnel and specialized machinery, we implement projects trenchlessly, on schedule and to the highest quality.
Our services
Our experienced master drillers undertake horizontal drilling for watercourse crossings and longitudinal installations with minimal impact on existing infrastructure.
- Trenchless laying of supply lines (electricity, gas, water, telecommunications and heating networks)
- Special structures: water crossings, undercrossings of roads, motorways and railroads, factory buildings and churches as well as parks
- Boreholes up to 600 m long
- Rock drilling
How it works
The technical implementation of the drilling work may vary slightly depending on the soil conditions and local circumstances. Sand, loam and clay soils, for example, are best suited, sometimes with inclusions. Less suitable for the drilling and flushing method are, for example, building rubble, coarse gravel and heavily rolling soils.
Our drilling system
Our drilling systems for the drilling fluid method consist of a supply truck with hydraulic unit and storage tank as well as a mobile drilling rig. The steerable drilling tool consists of individually bolted, directional hollow drill rods and a drill head with nozzles.
The pilot hole
The pilot hole is the first hole to be drilled from the planned entry point to the exit point. A water-bentonite suspension shoots through the nozzles of the drill head under high pressure, so that the existing soil is hydraulically and mechanically loosened. At the same time, the borehole is stabilized and lubricated. The pilot hole can be controlled in any direction, as the drill head can be precisely positioned using a locating device.
Expanding
After the pilot hole is drilled, the borehole is expanded. For this purpose, the drill lance is replaced by an expander head equipped with nozzles. The rods rotate continuously as they are retracted. The rods are then pushed forward again using a push head.
Moving in
The expander head is used again, and when the drill pipe is pulled back, the product pipe, in which the supply lines will later run, is gently pulled into the expanded and supported borehole.
