Training as a construction equipment operator (m/f/x)

Here’s what you can expect as a construction equipment operator:

• Operating different construction equipment
• Maintenance and care
• Analysis and resolution of malfunctions
• Commissioning in compliance with environmental protection and accident prevention regulations
• Preparation for transportation to or from the construction sites

As a good construction equipment operator, you should have the following skills:

• You have good technical understanding
• You are a reliable team player
• You are interested in large equipment
• You are very skilful and can concentrate well
• You have successfully completed school with at least a
• secondary school leaving certificate

You will receive the following monthly training allowance (gross):

1. 1st apprenticeship year: 935 €
2. 2nd apprenticeship year: 1,230 €
3. 3rd apprenticeship year: 1,495 €

Theory and practice – it’s all in the mix
You alternate between in-house training on our construction sites and the theoretical part at vocational school and external training courses. This will teach you everything you need to know and do as a construction equipment operator.

Your exams
There are two major exams during your training. You take the intermediate exam at the end of the 2nd year of training. After the 3rd year, you will take your final examination to become a qualified construction equipment operator.
Because we provide you with intensive support and offer you assistance and further training, you don’t have to be afraid of the exams. Together we will prepare you in the best possible way.

Just one of many examples: We equip almost all hydraulic excavators over 18 tons with GPS, with both 2D and 3D control. The construction plans are transferred directly to the on-board computer in the cab via the 3D control system. The system can therefore determine the position of the excavator and compare it with the planning data. Any deviations are automatically compensated for by the machine hydraulics.
