A26/A7 BL 5.1

Lockdown weekend in February

The A7 motorway at the Hamburg Elbe Tunnel had to be shut down between the Heimfeld and Volkspark junctions.

The reason for this was the installation of a connecting ramp as part of the planned connection of the A26 to the A7. Accordingly, a 49-meter-long intermediate bridge span weighing approx. 220 tonnes was placed over the motorway (A7) on supporting pillars.

A traffic sign structure was also installed, which will be used exclusively for signs. Spanning a width of 69 meters and weighing approx. 110 tonnes, it is the longest of its kind in Germany.

“Our consortium partner deserves great praise for having carried out the project so smoothly. We would like to take this opportunity to highlight once again the excellent and successful cooperation with Becker,” says Rainer Meemann, DEPENBROCK project manager.
