The project comprises the demolition of the existing indoor pool and the planning and turnkey construction of an all-weather pool.
With a water surface area of 462 m², the all-weather pool has a spacious indoor pool area with a central swimming pool. There are five 25-meter lanes, the depth of which can be adjusted via a variable floor mechanism, and an adventure area for small children. An outdoor swimming channel connects the indoor and outdoor pool areas. The catering area is centrally located so that it faces the pool, the sauna area, and the reception and waiting area at the entrance to the facility.
Architecture
The new facility impresses visitors with its modern, bright and friendly architecture, which creates flowing transitions to the outside area around the outdoor pool through generous use of façade glazing. In summer, a large portion of the indoor pool area’s façade can be opened to accentuate its outdoor pool character.
To optimize space allocation, the changing room is shared by users of the indoor pool, the outdoor pool, and the sauna. In its individual saunas, the sauna area takes up the theme of
“Iron City” Friesoythe.
Energy and building concept
The building complies with EnEV 2009 requirements. A gas-fired CHP unit supplies the heat. The all-weather pool is mechanically ventilated via ventilation systems with heat recovery. Lighting is provided by daylight and presence detectors.
