Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG of Detmold is planning a new plant in Ohmstrasse with the “ECHO” project, which will focus on the production of electronic products. This new building comprises a 2-storey production hall with offices and break rooms. The building is subject to FM Global requirements.
Architecture
The building is divided into clear functional areas. The production areas are enclosed by the multi-storey head buildings, which contain all the service functions. This clear structure is brought to life by the façade design on the outside.
Energy and building concept
The electrical energy is supplied by two 2,000-kVA transformers and the PV system. Heat is supplied via air-to-water heat pumps and district heating. The building’s cooling supply is also provided by the heat pumps. In addition, air-cooled chillers, some with free cooling, are provided for process cooling. The supply and exhaust ventilation of both the production hall and the office and administration areas use central HVAC systems with pre-conditioning and heat recovery.
