A throttle structure measuring 5.00 x 5.00 x 4.35 m at a depth of 5.60 m was built in mid-2023. The construction was carried out using prefabricated concrete wall and ceiling elements, whereby the corners had to be subsequently reinforced, shuttered and concreted.
Reinforced concrete frame sections in individual sizes of 3.20 x 2.60 x 3.00 m were used over a length of 34.00 m for the additional sewer storage space with a further 180 m³ retention volume. As with the throttle structure, the excavation pit was secured using slide rail shoring. The installation in two construction phases required heavy equipment. A 140-ton and a 250-ton mobile crane supported the smooth installation.
The contract also included extensive earthworks. The existing soil consisted of 75 percent rock, most of which was disposed of or broken up on site and reinstalled. The main task of the road construction project was the renewal of the bound surface course in the area of Taller Straße (L 967) over a length of approx. 260 meters. The construction work was completed on schedule with excellent coordination.
