As part of a relocation, api Computerhandels GmbH commissioned Depenbrock in March 2014 with the construction of a new administration building including adjacent order picking. As the height of the high-bay warehouse had been limited to 18.50 meters in the approval process, api decided to build the entire warehouse 6.25 meters deep.
This step compensated for thousands of pallet spaces lost due to the restricted height, but at the same time provided the Depenbrock team with
faced enormous logistical challenges in terms of the masses of earth to be moved. Some of the excavated material was stored on land rented and purchased specifically for this purpose, and 90,000 cubic meters of soil were used as a screen wall on the neighboring plot.
The fast construction time and assembly of the precast concrete parts were supported by the use of a 220-ton telescopic crawler crane. In this way, great flexibility and the optimal interaction of in-situ concrete and precast construction could be guaranteed on a construction area of 20,000 square meters. A special highlight is the 950 square meter roof terrace, which can accommodate 200 people for in-house exhibitions and events.
