Fraport enclosure

At Frankfurt Airport, the existing concrete security fence of Runway 18-West was replaced by a new detected outer fence made of aluminum mesh over a length of 6.0 km in the same location by May 2018. As part of this construction project, the entire security technology along the fence line – consisting of video surveillance and lighting – as well as the associated
Cable conduit routes and electrical shafts. Fraport AG commissioned Depenbrock Bau with the necessary civil engineering work. These included the dismantling of the old fence, the construction of cable routes in the entire area of Runway 18-West, approx. 52 km of individual pipes, the erection of 250 lighting masts and approx. 100 shaft structures for cable conduit systems. The work also included the construction of approx. 2,400 individual foundations for the new fencing system, including 6.0 km of under-creep protection for small animals made of kerbstones and ground profiling.
