Great importance was attached to an open, spacious design. The floors are characterized by an above-average height, which conveys an impression of openness and space, especially in the spacious foyer. The entire building, which is impressive from every perspective, is glazed floor-to-ceiling. Transparency has been created that offers plenty of scope for open communication. The interior appearance of the building is mainly characterized by glass partitions. Another design accent is the 45 x 9 m glass roof over the atrium, which creates a bright and open space in the center of the building that extends over all four floors.
The floors within this open environment are connected by cantilevered staircases and bridges spanning the atrium space. Glass railings support the spacious design. The glass surfaces total approx. 6,000 m², half of which is accounted for by the glass façade
The very wide-span hollow-core slabs are a special feature. Apart from 36 columns and two staircase cores, the building has no load-bearing walls on the ground and upper floors. In order to be able to manage without beams or a large ceiling thickness, Beeplates were used – semicircular hollow plastic elements that are connected to each other using spacers. Thanks to the Beeplates, which are only filled with a small amount of concrete, it was possible to achieve a concrete and thus a weight reduction of up to 30 %. The very short construction time per storey, which was achieved despite the complex laying of reinforcement and hollow core elements in the in-situ concrete ceilings, was made possible by the use of ceiling tables for the formwork of the ceilings.
