The municipality of Wietze has put the design of the Neue Mitte Wietze – consisting of the conversion of the school building into a community center and the construction of a new town hall with community hall – out to tender in a Europe-wide negotiated procedure.
Die Architektur
The architectural design envisages arranging the town hall with civic hall as a building block on the southern part of the site. The town hall on Steinförder Strasse forms the prelude to the new center and presents itself there as the municipal administration. It extends to the west and ends in the middle with the Bürgersaal in the Rathausplatz. This is the central open space of the Neue Mitte – a landscaped public square with the quality of a place to stay and open space. This square is bordered on the west side by the existing school building, which will function as a community center in the future.
The modern and harmonious, but also timeless town hall is structured by the building joints that can be read from the outside. Light, cream-coloured facing bricks and dark grey façade elements and windows characterize the design of the façade.
Das Energie- und Gebäudekonzept
When planning the new building, great importance was attached to optimizing energy requirements. The building envelope was planned in accordance with EnEV 2014 as of 2016, and a condensing boiler supplies the heat. The town hall will be equipped with a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery.
The electrical power is supplied from the low-voltage side. A photovoltaic system with an area of approx. 150 m² will be installed on the building and LED technology will be used for the lighting.
