Blütenstadt Leichlingen has decided to have the new construction of a four-group daycare center and the new OGS building for the Uferstraße community elementary school built as part of an integrated contract award (overall contract award) on a turnkey basis. Depenbrock is to provide all necessary planning and construction services, demolition, maintenance for the day care center and the new OGS building within the extended warranty period, including the adjustment of the technical systems, on the basis of a functional construction service description with room program.
Die Architektur
The newly planned day nursery and the open all-day elementary school will be positioned in two independent buildings on the site, thus forming a scaled ensemble with the existing building.
The two-storey daycare center is spatially separated from the school, which is accessed via Uferstrasse. The outdoor play area of the daycare center is located as an inner courtyard between the buildings and is grouped around the existing, striking lime tree, which forms the center.
The open all-day elementary school will be linked to the existing building in order to create a functional interface and ensure barrier-free access. The spatial joint marks the entrance to the OGS building via Schulstraße.
The planning is essentially based on a two-storey structure, which will be extended by one storey at certain points on the upper floor.
The buildings will have an ecological, vertically structured wooden façade cladding with colorful accents. In the main entrance area of the daycare center, on the first floor of the new OGS building and in the area of the external staircase, resistant façade panels made of suitable panel material are planned. Green roofs and natural materials emphasize sustainability. The new buildings thus become a link and blend in carefully with the existing buildings.
Das Energie- und Nachhaltigkeitskonzept
The buildings will be constructed in accordance with the current (01.03.2023) federal funding for climate-friendly new-build municipalities. The funding program includes the Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings (QNG), DGNB certification in silver and energy efficiency level 40.
Heat is supplied by air-to-water heat pumps without the use of fossil fuels.
Some areas of the buildings (e.g. interior rooms, sanitary areas, canteen and kitchen) are equipped with mechanical supply and exhaust air systems incl. Heat recovery. The windows can also be opened manually.
The lighting is provided by LED lights.
PV systems with approx. 60 kWp each will be installed on the buildings, generating a projected yield of approx. 100,000 kWh per year.
The sustainable operation of the technical systems can be tracked via the web-based Depenbrock energy management system.
