In 2016, the Depenbrock Group was commissioned by the Kyffhäuserkreis district to demolish the existing secondary school in Greußen and construct a new building for the new Thuringian community school to be formed at the previous site of the Friedrich-von-Hardenberg-Gymnasium. To this end, the existing elementary school, the regular school and the grammar school were to be merged to form a community school. An additional single sports hall was integrated into the new school building.
Die Architektur
The aim was to create a modern, identity-forming school with diverse, high-quality interior and exterior spaces that simultaneously meet the requirements of both high economic efficiency and ecological sustainability. A star-shaped, three-winged, compact building with a sports hall was designed according to these specifications. The three-storey building enables a good functional allocation per wing and also the partial separation of the functional units (sports hall, administration, etc.). At the same time, the three-winged figure has a center that contains the central development. This concept enables short distances and creates space for encounters.
Depenbrock is responsible for the maintenance of the building, the technical installations and the outdoor facilities during the extended liability for material defects.
Das Energie- und Gebäudekonzept
During the planning phase, emphasis was placed on a compact building structure in order to optimize energy requirements.
The building envelope was planned in accordance with EnEV 2014, as of 2016. A photovoltaic system was also planned to reduce the primary energy requirement. Compliance with the EEWärmeG is achieved by improving the building envelope (HAT value) in combination with heat recovery from the ventilation system. A gas condensing boiler system generates the heat.
