On 19 October 2012, the time had come: following an extremely short construction period, Engelbert Strauss was able to present a fully re-interpreted world of craftsmanship with its new Bergkirchen store, directly on the motorway A8.
Its 2,000-m² sales floor has created an ambience that turns the world of work into an experience of heretofore unimagined horizons. Offering 5,000 m² of floor space, the high-quality retail store includes a three-storey administration-and-technical wing and 125 parking spaces and was completed by Depenbrock Systembau in just five months. That achievement is further underscored by the 1,800 m² of facing brickwork that has been incorporated into the extremely attractive architectural design.
Architecture
Themes from traditional crafts are presented here in a thoroughly exciting format: decorative masonry crafts, an “ancestral gallery” of historical drills, artistic coats of arms with symbols of the various guilds, and chandeliers made from construction lamps, shovels, light tubes and steel brooms, as well as a red lounge made from wooden pallets adorn the interior of the store. As part of the independent interior design of
Engelbert Strauss, these furnishing thus become an expression of a new self-image and self-awareness among skilled craftspeople.
With their Workwearstores®, Engelbert Strauss has successfully established a concept that brings the values, convictions and enthusiasm of the family business to life directly at the point of sale: Innovation, design, trust and dynamism. Here, customers can expect personal advice in an atmosphere that is tailored to workwear from head to toe.
