In Waldkirch in Breisgau, Depenbrock Systembau built a new distribution center for Sick AG, a global manufacturer of sensors for factory, logistics and process automation. Within just 12 months, a three-storey order picking hall with a separate technical/gatekeeper building, loading yard, parking areas and outdoor facilities was built on the approx. 45,000 m² site.
Architecture
The high architectural standards of agiplan GmbH, Mülheim a. d. Ruhr, come into their own in several ways in this building. The timber roof structure was designed with under-tensioned timber beams. In addition, the visible installation of the technical building equipment in the hall and office area is a very attractive solution. A particular highlight is the Trimo Qbiss One modular façade system. It combines the functional advantages of a high-quality sandwich façade with an extremely attractive appearance. The entire loading yard was constructed as a watertight and buoyancy-proof trough so that unrestricted operation is possible even in the event of flooding.
