Project

The Stadtwerder peninsula – between the Weser and Kleiner Weser rivers – is one of the most sought-after residential areas in Bremen. Serving as general contractor for the housing company BREBAU, Depenbrock Bau constructed an attractive, high-quality building with 27 residential units on one of the last available building plots. As the building with two entrances uses the entire permitted construction site width, the requirements for precisely timed construction site logistics were particularly high.

Architecture

The double-skin façade with elaborate facing brickwork, which is structured by a two-centimetre offset facing brick bond, is particularly attractive. The entrance façades of the four-storey building with its partially recessed top floor are structured by the modelled facing brick surfaces. With its architectural charisma, the building is elegantly integrated in its urban surroundings.

In keeping with the demands of urban living, the apartments on the first floor are surrounded by green spaces, which are complemented by a play and leisure area accessible to all residents.

Energy and building concept

In accordance with the energy performance certificate, heating and hot water are provided by an air-to-water heat pump with the support of a gas-fired condensing boiler.

With the accurately executed facing brickwork, an impressive sui generis design was flawlessly implemented, brick by brick: it exemplifies how digital construction site processes can now be perfectly combined with the demands of traditional building craftsmanship.
